What is Sci-Vessel ?

Sci-Vessel is an electronic meeting place where Great Lakes science vessel operators, managers and users can discuss and exchange information to promote wider communication and coordination among the Great Lakes science vessel community.

Announcements, requests for information, and discussion of all aspects of science vessel operation, management and use are welcome and encouraged. List subscribers are expected to limit topics of their email submissions to vessel-related information considered to be valuable to vessel operators, managers and users at-large. It`s up to Sci-Vessel users to be responsible in their use of this service.

Sci-Vessel is a "closed" list and only subscribers to the list are able to post to the list. Non-member submissions are forwarded to the list manager for approval.

Sci-Vessel is managed by the CanAmGlass Webmaster (webmaster@canamglass.org).

How to Send a Message to Sci-Vessel:

To send a message to Sci-Vessel, simply send an e-mail message to sci-vessel@great-lakes.net. This message will reach all list subscribers; therefore, do not use it to subscribe or unsubscribe from the list (see below for instructions).

How to Subscribe and Unsubscribe:

To join Sci-Vessel, address an e-mail message to majordomo@great-lakes.net with the command 'subscribe sci-vessel' (minus the quotes) in the body of the message. No subject line is required.

If you ever want to remove yourself from the e-mail list, send mail to majordomo@great-lakes.net with the command 'unsubscribe sci-vessel' in the body of your message.

GLIN`s mailing list manager is an automated system called majordomo. To learn how to use the system, send a message with no subject but with the word 'help' in the body of the message to majordomo@great-lakes.net. GLIN`s majordomo will return a list of all the commands that it understands.
